Swatson!
I had a great time photographing Swatson, the super awesome mascot for the Sugar Land Skeeters baseball team. Swatson was fun, funny and creative during the photo shoot at Constellation Field.
Constellation Field is located in Sugar Land, Texas and has a capacity of 7500 spectators. Opened April 26, 2012 and is home for the Sugar Land Skeeters baseball team.

Inspiration
Several months ago I had the honor of meeting Briana at Texas Children's Hospital. In this pic, I am teaching her how to load and use a DianaF+ instant film camera. Meeting Briana has inspired me to start volunteering at Texas Children's Hospital and teaching basic photography to young people in isolation on the bone marrow transfer unit.CLICK here to follow her inspiring journey.

I had an amazing day photographing Briana with the chair here in Houston, Texas. She is a survivor of a rare and deadly disease called Aplastic Anemia and she also a bone marrow recipient. Please click here to follow her amazing and inspiring story.
For a young person, Briana's perspective on life is brilliant and positive, she is an absolute joy to be around.

Recently Seen On The Beaches Of Goa India

Walking along the beaches of Goa with the chair creates a curiosity. It's not normal to see an American carrying and photographing a red chair. Strangers walk up to me constantly and ask "Okay, what's with the chair? Why are you photographng it?" It opens a door for us to have a conversation, an opportunity to sit down and share the project and cause.

This is a digital image of Derrick with the chair. As always, I shot the portrait session with my trusty DianaF+ with an instant film back. I'm currently on the road, living out of a suitcase so I don't have a film scanner with me. As soon as I have a permanent residence I will scan and post a few polaroids from our photo shoot.
One evening while walking in Panjim, my children and I stumbled upon this resturaunt called Mum's Kitchen. It was slightly hidden behind some foliage but once we walked through the gate it felt very welcoming. We were warmly greeted at the door and were able to be seated without a reservation
We quickly befriended a local Goan by the name of Derrick Smith. He was kind enough to sit with us, explain some of the traditional Goan food and culture. During our conversation I discovered that he was an artist and a photographer as well. Having mutual interest (and his attention), I introduced him to The Untitled Chair Project, the simple process of registering and painless way of donating PBSC (Peripheral Blood Stem Cell). He was showing great enthusiasm so I invited him to participate in the project.

Last night my boys and i danced in the rain here in Goa. It's the first time we've seen rain in several years. Locals and tourist watched as if we had lost all of our common sense. From our perspective, we were celebrating life.
We are becoming more acclimated to our new environment. I will be assembling the chair soon, pics to follow.
Life is beautiful.

Del and His Custom-Built Triumph Bonneville Cafe Racer

Del and I started our day having breakfast at Biker's Cafe here in Dubai. I had the "English Breakfast", two eggs (mine was scrambled with a bit of cheese), beef bacon, Sausages, and hash brown with butter and jam. It was the BEST breakfast I've had since moving to the UAE three years ago. After washing it all down with a dose of caffeine... a vanilla cappuccino, we headed out into the streets of Dubai.
Shortly after leaving Biker's Cafe, we stumbled upon some really great graffiti along Jumeirah road.

About halfway through the photo-shoot, the heat was starting to take a toll on us. We unanimously decided to wrap it up and regroup next week at my new favorite breakfast spot.

We started our adventurous day with a mega-dose of sugar and caffeine at Tucano Coffee in Ras Al Khaimah. We brainstormed and discussed potential locations while eating a slice of delicious Oreo cheesecake (highly recommended). Afterwards, we set out and started exploring Ras Al Khaimah. Here are a few images from our day.

We found a retired airport with an old jet plane parked out front. It's been converted into a billboard for a local resort named Palma Beach Resort.
This is one of several watch towers in Ras Al Khaimah.
I don't know what was on the other side of the wall. I didn't ask. Only Valentina knows.
