In 1981, Johnny Cash, the Man in Black, stood in this very church by the sea in St Monans, Scotland, and sang to the world.

Today, The Untitled Chair Project sits where he once stood—continuing a journey not just across miles, but through meaning.

The Untitled Chair Project is a creative initiative that combines art, storytelling, and travel to raise awareness about the importance of stem cell donation. One specific chair is taken on various adventures, photographed in unique locations, sometimes with participants, and shared with the world through social media.

Through this project, we aim to inspire people to register as stem cell donors, support those affected by blood cancer, and build a community that cares.

A Delicious Collaboration

The Untitled Chair Project recently had the pleasure of collaborating with the Skinfie food shack in Cellardyke, and what an experience it was! From the moment I arrived, I was treated to an array of mouth-watering aromas and flavors that left me eager to capture the essence of this culinary gem.

The Skinfie team welcomed me with open arms, and I was blown away by the passion and dedication that goes into crafting each dish. The wood-fired pizzas and BBQ were absolute perfection, and I was thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase the culinary magic that happens behind the scenes.

Our video collaboration with Skinfie captures the vibrant atmosphere of Cellardyke and the joy of sharing delicious food with others. I am excited to share this experience with you and hope it inspires you to visit Skinfie and taste the magic for yourself.

A huge thank you to the Skinfie team, Chris, Craig, and their wee furry mascot, Bonnie (Pug) for their hospitality. I was honored to have had the chance to work with them and can't wait to see what future collaborations bring.

University of St Andrews

Rolling through history, Lucky 13 and I visited the iconic St Andrews University, Scotland's oldest (founded in 1413!) and one of the world's most prestigious institutions.

As the Untitled Chair Project made its way through the historic streets, I couldn't help but think of the countless minds shaped and stories told within these ancient walls. From educating Scotland's elite to fostering global innovators, St Andrews' legacy inspires.

The chair's journey continues, adding its own chapter to the University's rich history. I visited the St Andrews University gift shop and wasn't disappointed. I found a new iron on patch for the chair's custom Italian-made cover. It looks great and has added volumes to the project.

This is Red Lucky 13, over the next few weeks we will be out and about here in Scotland, photographing participants and continuing to raise awareness with the chair. Dunnottar Castle, Stonehaven, Scotland

We had a lovely visit in Stonehaven, Scotland. The locals were so kind and the chair was very well received. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Stonehaven Harbour was first built around 1607 and has a population of around 11,700. Though no longer a substantial fishing port, it retains much of historic interest.

The chair is positioned just outside of the Countess Suite at Dunnottar Castle. You can see the strikingly blue North Sea in the background. If you type these Longitude and latitude coordinates into Google maps,

The Dunnottar Castle grounds are beautifully well kept. The historic architecture is amazing. If the walls could actually talk, I'm sure they would have plenty of stories to tell. In this pic you can clearly see the blacksmith's area. Note the remains of the giant chimney that was once there.

VOLANDIA - Parco e Museo del Volo

Everyone that knows me personally, knows that I love aeronautics. Our last stop with the chair was the VOLANDIA - Parco e Museo del Volo (Volandia Park and Flight Museum). Opened in 2010, it's the largest Italian aeronautical museum and displays over 100 aircraft. It has everything a flight enthusiast could enjoy. Although I was just there for a few hours, I could have spent two full days exploring the 645,000 sq ft (60,000 sq m) facility. My absolute favorite part was the hands on flight simulators. The helicopter flight simulator was incredibly authentic and immersive. The only thing missing was the whirling blades overhead and the smell of aviation fuel. My trusty flight instructor, Sergio, was professional, informative and VERY patient with my clumsiness. If you find yourself in the Lombardy region of Italy, this is a must go!

Solbiate Arno è la città natale di Samantha, nata e cresciuta qui, non abitando mai a più di due chilometri di distanza dalla casa della sua infanzia. Il paese di Solbiate Arno, con una popolazione di 4500 abitanti, si trova nel nord Italia nella regione Lombardia. Insieme con la sedia, abbiamo passeggiato per le vie di Solbiate Arno alla ricerca dello sfondo perfetto. Mentre passeggiavamo per il villaggio, ogni singola persona che incontravamo per le strade salutava calorosamente Samantha per nome. Mi sembrava di camminare con una celebrità, una specie di reale locale, Samantha Principessa di Solbiate Arno.

Solbiate Arno is Samantha's hometown, born and raised, never living more than two kilometers away from her childhood home. The small town of Solbiate Arno, with a population of 4500, is located in northern Italy in the Lombardy region. Together, with the chair, we walked through the streets of Solbiate Arno in search of the perfect backdrop. As we strolled through the tiny town, every single person we passed in the streets warmly greeted Samantha by name. I felt like I was walking with a celebrity, a local royal of sorts, Samantha Princess of Solbiate Arno.

Questa posizione è molto speciale per Roberta. Da neo-mamma veniva a passeggiare sui sentieri del bosco che circonda la chiesa trovando pace e serenità. Per questo ha scelto la chiesa come location del suo servizio fotografico con la sedia.
La chiesa si trova su una collina boscosa nel piccolo villaggio di Viggiu, in Italia. Questa struttura fu costruita nel XVI secolo sopra un antico monastero che risale al 1095. Dell'antico monastero oggi non rimane alcuna testimonianza. Nel 1504 la chiesa divenne meta di pellegrinaggio da molti villaggi circostanti.
Nel 1965 un fulmine colpì il campanile, facendolo cadere a terra. Fu ricostruita nei primi anni '70.

This location is very special for Roberta. As a new mother she would go for walks on the trails in the woods surrounding the church, finding peace and serenity. This is why she chose the church as the location for his photo shoot with the chair.

The church is located on a wooded hill in the small village of Viggiu, Italy. This structure was built in the 16th century on top of an ancient monastery which dates back to 1095. Today no evidence remains of the ancient monastery. In 1504 the church became a pilgrimage destination from many surrounding villages.

In 1965, lightning struck the bell tower, causing it to fall to the ground. It was rebuilt in the early 1970s.

Abbiamo avuto un photoshoot avventuroso all'ex Grand Hotel Prealpi, un quattro stelle costruito nel 1912 e ora in rovina. Questo edificio fu usato come ospedale militare durante le due Guerre Mondiali. Alla fine della Seconda Guerra, diventò un orfanotrofio per bambini che avevano perso i genitori durante la guerra e continuò ad essere un orfanotrofio fino agli anni '80.

We had an adventurous photoshoot at the dilapidated ex Grand Hotel Prealpi, a four star hotel that was built in 1912. This building served as a military hospital for WWI and WWII. After WWII it became an orphanage for children that lost their parents in the war and continued to be an orphanage until the 80's.
